The Annual Fund Gift Chart Workbook

The Alumnic workbook for turning an annual fund goal into gift levels, named prospects, an appeal calendar and checkpoints you can read all year

The Annual Fund Goal Calculator on this site divides a goal by an average gift to estimate a donor count, and says itself that real counts depend on how gift sizes are spread. An advancement office needs to know which gifts, from whom, and when. The Annual Fund Gift Chart Workbook does that. Part 1 starts from last year's gifts, builds a gift range chart (a top gift of about a tenth of the goal, halving the gift and doubling the count at each level), counts the prospects each level needs, and tests the top levels against real names. Part 2 runs the year: asking about matching gifts, an appeal calendar that asks the top of the chart first, monthly checkpoints that read which levels are filled rather than just the percent, and renewing last year's donors. For a $250,000 goal, 7 gifts raise 29.6% of it, and 255 personal-ask gifts need about 544 prospects. Planning arithmetic, not legal, tax or accounting advice. Includes a blank chart, prospect list, 12-month calendar, progress tracker and charts for four goal sizes. With your purchase comes a personalised sheet drawn for your own goal.
